Why do we need to cool air after it leaves a turbocharger?
When we are using a turbocharger to compress the incoming air, the air gets hotter. Usually this hot air is cooled by using an intercooler before it's passed to the engine.
What is the reason behind cooling this air?

Intercooler after the engine and before the turbo
what would hapen if right after the engine the exaust gas went to an intercooler and then to the turbine???
the turbine would run cooler but it would be better?

VWAG TSI engines and intercooler
I have a TSI engine but auto is not VW. I wonder if these engines come along with intercooler or is it just oil cooling.
