A fuse panel (about.com)

A fuse panel contains a collection of fuses (see the tag). Most motor vehicles have two fuse panels, one in the engine compartment and one in the interior of the vehicle. These panels have wires from various electrical components connected into leeds where a fuse can be set to help protect the car's electrical wiring from damage due to overheating.
