My battery is boiling hot on one of my batteries in my 1999 Chevy suburban. I thought I had it traced down to two wires rubbing together on my starter and sparking and fixed that and it stopped. Now it's doing it again. I've already lost one battery to this issue before I diagnosed it, now it's doing it in my other battery

Most likely thing is that the alternator is overcharging the battery. With the engine running check the voltage on the battery. If it is over 15 volts the alternator is likely faulty.

If your battery is boiling hot, it's definitely due to an overcharging issue or short circuit and if I were to make a strong guess, I would say that it's a faulty alternator or voltage regulator sending too much voltage to the battery. It could also be a bad ground connection or worn/corroded cables and loose battery terminals. In my opinion, I would start with the alternator and have it checked first.
