My car is a 2007 Toyota 6-cyl 4-Runner. My condenser took a hit, recently, so I will be replacing it. All the refrigerant (R134a) must have leaked out by now, so the system is basically empty. Is now a good time to proactively replace the two Schrader valves? Are there pros and cons to this? As far as I know they are not leaking, but they are also original valves (AFAIK). If so, I am confused at how to find the right valves (low & high sides) as Rock Auto does not seem to list any for my vehicle. Are these that standard? Are manufacturers all the same quality?

If this is a diy repair, replace both valve cores. They wear out and leak. Individual cores are sold by ac parts distributors at reasonable cost. It would be advisable to remove both for identification when shopping online, unless a local ac parts distributor is within driving distance. Different (synthetic) rubber seals are used for compatibility with various refrigerants. If you buy tire valves, you might be gambling on a future expensive mistake if a leak occurs from using them.
