In the USA-Connecticut. If you purchase lawn items (top soil, rocks, sod, etc.) from a seller on Marketplace, but the seller purchased those items with a stolen credit card then sold them to you, are you liable to pay the owner of the stolen credit card? Do you have to return the items?

Someone who buys ill-gotten goods in good faith and without knowledge of the illegality is known as a "bona fide purchaser for value without notice."
There is no claim against the bona fide purchaser for value. They retain title to the property and are not liable.
Local statute may alter this rule.
