In Islamic law, the general rule is that a son inherits twice the share of a daughter. However, I would like to know if it is legally possible to distribute inheritance equally among sons and daughters.

  • Can a person make a will (wasiyyah) or take any other legal action to ensure equal inheritance?

  • Or is this division strictly enforced with no room for modification as a mandatory rule?

  • If this equal distribution is not possible within the framework of Islamic law, are there any alternative solutions to achieve a similar outcome?

I have researched this topic but haven't found a clear answer.
