According to the 14 Amendment of US Constitution, persons (presumably including children) born in the United States "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" are natural born citizens.

Excluding persons under diplomatic protection, aren't all persons (including children) "under the jurisdiction" of the US while present in the US?

Is there a condition under which a child is not considered a "person" ?

Are there any situations where a person (child or otherwise) who has entered the US illegally not considered to be "under jurisdiction" of the US ?
