Electronics and embedded computing has formed the mainstay of my hobbies for the last 50+ years. Now retired, I spend more time developing electronic and embedded software solutions to problems I create by moving into 3D printing, CNC (to create PCBs) and laser cutting/engraving; this almost becomes self-perpetuating. It all helps to keep the brain cells ticking and provides the motivation to learn and keep abreast of current technology. In the last 10yrs I have moved from design and build of bare board Atmel 8bit microcontroller based systems to Arduino - it saves so much time in hardware and software development time.
