I have an old Dell Desktop that I am finally getting around to replacing Windows on it. The current location for the desktop has no wired location. I have an old Netgear wg311v3 card and have jumped through various drivers etc with ndiswrapper.
I am using the 64-bit version of the driver from the actual manufactuer (German company) that I found through askubuntu. Wireless is now showing up so super excited on that...
However whenever I try to actually connect to the wifi network the whole machine freezes and stops responding. I have to hit the power button to turn things off.
Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Additional notes: 1. Upon powering on device after the freeze I need to execute a sudo modprobe ndiswrapper before wireless shows up as available each time. Something isn't being written to the system correctly
