I need to prepare a linux box for a senior citizen who has a knack for screwing up things --- trying different keyboard combinations, etc. It's not a security problem. It's a use problem. Limitations are a feature here.
So, I want to have not a gnome desktop, but just 4-6 buttons: one for web browsing, one for email, one for zoom or alike (well, would have loved it for FaceTime, but this isn't possible under linux afaik; and Skype died; maybe Alexa??).
this is simple and probably has been written a few times already. where would I find something like this?
