I switched to Ubuntu a month ago and have been encountering some issues with certain applications. Specifically, I'm having trouble with PCSX2 and K3B.
I use PCSX2 to play PS2 games and K3B to back up my game discs. However, when I install PCSX2 via the Software app (as a Flatpak), it cannot access the folder where my PS2 games are stored or recognize the disc drive. I encounter the following error when trying to access the PS2 disc drive:
Could not find any CD/DVD-ROM devices.
Please ensure you have a drive connected and sufficient permissions to access it.
Similarly when I try to use K3B, I receive this error:
Error while writing to IO device.
Current sector is 0. Read a total of 128 sectors (262144 bytes).
I want to clarify that the disc drive itself is functioning properly, as I can use it without any issues outside of these applications.
Interestingly, I was able to run a separate .AppImage version of PCSX2 without encountering these problems, which leads me to believe it might be a permissions issue with the Flatpak version. I tried using the Flatseal app to adjust permissions, but it didn't resolve the issue. I've also checked the settings for permissions in K3B, and it should have access to the disc drive, but it seems it does not.
Additionally I've noticed a strange issue with the Software app itself. I cannot launch any applications directly from it, although this isn't a major concern for me.
I would appreciate any help or tips on how to troubleshoot these issues.
