Is it possible to set an HTML page as a desktop background instead of an image in Ubuntu 25.04? I found a couple of posts asking the same question, but like 10+ years ago. Did not seem to be possible back then, and now I wonder whether it is possible to do that today. The desktop environment I am primarily interested in doing that is Gnome 3 (Ubuntu variant) which is non other than the standard Ubuntu desktop environment.
To also provide the why, I think that it is relatively easy to create a single page application (at least for me) with a couple of useful functions. This way I could include a couple of JS libraries and create a personalized image slider, two or three buttons leading to websites, and so on. HTML is quite convenient for stuff like that. Being able to set such an HTML page as desktop background would just be so awesome!
Edit 1: What I meant with Gnome 3 is actually Gnome 46 and above. Thank you for clarifying that @guiverc.
