I got my hands on a laptop running Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and I have no idea how to get started. The laptop has Firefox installed so I can download programs. Open Office would not work. I am looking to avoid having to buy a new device when Microsoft stops supporting Windows 10. Before I start browsing I would like to have some security like a firewall and a VPN. I am an average home user with no particular needs. So my question is very simple - how do I learn to use Ubuntu?

In Ubuntu you recommended that you install programs from the Snap store or APT. Do not follow random tutorials to download random programs from the internet.

Ubuntu has LibreOffice preinstalled, not Open Office. It is unclear what you mean. If something is not working, please ask a new question. If you need a different office suite with better compatibility with MS Office, check out ONLYOFFICE.

You really don't need to install an antivirus/firewall in Ubuntu. It is immune to windows malware. As long as you install programs from the snap store/flatpak/official APT repositories, you should be good.

Please ask a more specific question in a different post. What do you want to do?
