I installed the latest version of ubuntu v24.04 on my 2017 macbook pro. It has really brought my laptop back to life but I am struggling with three issues that is making it annoying to use it as a daily driver.
First one is that when a run an update the sounds stops working. This fix works but I have to do it everytime I run an update. Sound Macbook pro Ubuntu 22.04
Second one is that the internet connection drops sometimes when I reboot or wake from sleep. Shutting down and starting again will fix it but it is still a drag.
Third one is that when I close the lid to the laptop the wake from sleep doesn't work. I press every button and still nothing. I end up pressing the power button for a long time an essentially just rebooting the laptop again which is not really helpful if you have things open or are working on something.
Really, the wake from sleep issue would be the most pressing one for me to fix. ANy help would be greatly appreciated! I know that updating the /etc/systemd/logind.conf file can help but I am not getting any consistent results. The only setting I have update is that HandleLidSwitch=lock I uncommented it and changed it from suspend to lock.
