I've got the notification that Ubuntu 25.04 is available and started the Upgrade.
During the installation process the upgrade assistant asked me if obsolete packages should be removed. I clicked on remove.
After restart a sign-in dialog appeared. But after entering the password nothing happened. I noticed that I could not select any session. There was no available.
To resolve the issue, I reinstalled the desktop environment via the console (Strg + Alt + F3) with following commands (thanks ChatGPT):
sudo apt install --reinstall plasma-desktop kubuntu-desktop sddm
sudo dpkg-reconfigure sddm
So the question is, how / where can I report this problem properly?
This is a major issue where less experienced users won't be able to fix the problem.
