I attempted to create a bootable USB drive for Ubuntu by following the instructions here: https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/install-ubuntu-desktop#3-create-a-bootable-usb-stick
But I received a message to say that I needed to format the drive, followed by further messages to say the drive could not be formatted because ‘The disk is write protected’ and ‘The volume does not contain a recognised file system.’ Thinking that the USB drive was faulty, I repeated the process with a different memory stick, but the same thing happened again. I now have two unusable USB drives.
I’d really appreciate some help in fixing them.
