Does Ctrl + Alt + F1 still go to a terminal when your computer is frozen or responding slowly?
All the posts talking about it are like 13 years old.
My computer was barely responding so I was going to press Ctrl + Alt + F1, type "pgrep firefox" (for example if Firefox was the problem) then "kill PID", then return to GUI with Ctrl + Alt + F7.
But when I pressed Ctrl + Alt + F1 nothing happened.
I'm looking for a Ctrl + Alt + Del alternative for Linux.
edit: I am using Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS x86_64 with the default Gnome desktop but will be upgrading soon. So comments about newer releases are welcome.
