- OS: Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS
- GPU: Nvidia 3070
- Browser: Brave 1.76.73 Chromium 134.0.6998.45
I can't playback H.265 video, just says unsupported codec for the codec ID: hvc1.1.6.L90.90 (H.265 Main@L3.0) (in AWS Kinesis Video Streams console) - I can confirm playback works on Windows and Mac.
I had tried adding the following PPA based on some other posts sudo add-apt-repository ppa:strukturag/libde265 and updating, but I just get:
E: The repository 'https://ppa.launchpadcontent.net/strukturag/libde265/ubuntu noble Release' does not have a Release file.
N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.
N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.
But I pretty much just reach a dead end from here. Any advice on how to get this working?
I have VLC installed.
