I downloaded the installation package for linux from Quollwriter.com and tried to open it using file roller on ubuntu. it gave the following error message:

"An error occurred while loading the archive" "command exited abnormally"

Fileroller is the wrong tool. The download is a DEB so use Ubuntu or Gnome software center to install it (or from command line dpkg.

You can use the file browser to double click the file and choose Ubuntu/Gnome software center.
