My home desktop is a Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. I have different software packages on my machine, just as an example, I have TexLive, MATLAb, Python, VSCode, and JabRef. Which one is the best way to upgrade
- Backup my data and software names, install the upgraded version from the ISO from scratch
- Use the upgrader (do-release-upgrade)
I want to have a seamless upgrade process with the lower chance of losing data and restoring them.
