There are multiple ways of installing binaries. For my default dev setup I always need to setup java. Although there are multiple ways to install I still download the zip file from the openjdk page and point my path to the java binary.
It is possible to install java through apt, snap and sdkman but what if I install the following combination:
- java 11 from apt
- java 17 from snap
- java 21 from sdkman
Any idea which installation will overrule the others or is the one which has been installed most recently be overruling the others? Any idea what the order of preference is when someone is mixing up pachake managers for installing similar binaries.
