to the person who closed the question. The link you gave me doesn't seem to be the exact same thing. Part of that msg says "Failed to fetch ppa.launchpad.net" and I don't have that problem. Also, the main answer says something, then say it's different after version 24.04. Last, what's said means little to me since it doesn't say exactly what to do.I started my question by saying I'm new to all this, so I need more guidance if i want to stick with Linux. Thanks for your understanding! :)

I'm very new to Linux, so have little knowledge...so far. I have a cd-rom error message each time I'm doing: sudo apt-get update

Ign:1 cdrom://Xubuntu 22.04.2 LTS _Jammy Jellyfish_ - Release amd64 (20230223) jammy InRelease
Err:2 cdrom://Xubuntu 22.04.2 LTS _Jammy Jellyfish_ - Release amd64 (20230223) jammy Release
Please use apt-cdrom to make this CD-ROM recognized by APT. apt-get update cannot be used to add new CD-ROMs

I ran cat /etc/apt/sources.list but have no idea how to interpret/use those results

cat /etc/apt/sources.list
