I would like to install Ubuntu on an old Acer Aspire Switch 10E. It only supports 32bit EFI-files, but it's CPU supports 64bit systems. Therefore I need to add a 32bit EFI-file to the /EFI/boot folder on the Ubuntu Live USB.

All tutorials that describe on how to do that, tell me to "just copy the file to the /EFI/boot folder". However, since Ubuntu 20.04 the Ubuntu Live USB is now longer fat32 based and therefore not writable.

How can I add this file to the Ubuntu Live USB?

So I found a solution that works for Ubuntu 22.04

There is a script called isorespin.sh which is able to "patch" the ISO of an Ubuntu 22.04 (24.04 is not working).

There are also already patched iso files for lububtu 22.04 available.

This worked for me and I was able to install lubuntu successfully. I then did an upgrade to lubuntu 24.04 which worked flawlessly.
