Just did a fresh install of Ubuntu 24.04, and noticed that apps take either a very long time to open, or don't open at all. I found this question, the answer there suggests running sudo apt remove xdg-desktop-portal-gnome, but with a note that this might cause issues, which might be prevented by installing certain KDE packages beforehand. It is not specified there which KDE packages should be installed, and the links for further reading are definitely not accessible for Ubuntu novices, so this to me as a Ubuntu novice feels like a hail mary potentially creating ten more problems down the road. As I am not allowed to comment, I'm making this a new question: which specific packages should be installed before running sudo apt remove xdg-desktop-portal-gnome, in order to solve this issue without potentially trashing my installation even further?
