So when I turn my computer on it tells me that I should upgrade, when I click ont he upgrade it gives me an error:
An upgrade from 'lunar' to 'noble' is not supported with this tool.
An upgrade from 'lunar' to 'noble' is not supported with this tool Error message
So looking around somebody said that I need to upgrade first to 23.10 and left a link to an index with different upgraders to different versions:
https://changelogs.ubuntu.com/meta-release
I downloaded the one for 23.10 so as to follow the update path and tried to run it after decompressing it: sudo ./mantic
And I get these messages:
Some third party entries in your sources.list were disabled. You can re-enable them after the upgrade with the 'software-properties' tool or your package manager
And then:
Can't install 'kubuntu-desktop' It was impossible to install a required package. Please report this as a bug using 'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal.
The program finally leaves with the message:
An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.
This was likely caused by:
- Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu
Please use the tool 'ppa-purge' from the ppa-purge
package to remove software from a Launchpad PPA and
try the upgrade again.
If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the command 'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal. If you want to investigate this yourself the log files in '/var/log/dist-upgrade' will contain details about the upgrade. Specifically, look at 'main.log' and 'apt.log'.
I appreciate any help, I'd rather not re-install kubuntu and sorry for the formatting mistakes.
JUST TO BE CLEAR: My intention is NOT to skip over the releases, but to fix the error that is preventing me from upgrading to 23.10, and in turn making a 24.04 upgrade impossible.
