I tried to start Firefox in ubuntu via 'firefox' command in terminal, but nothing happens, and I got this message :

Content snap command-chain for /snap/firefox/2748/gnome-platform/command-chain/desktop- launch not found: ensure slot is connected

I removed the firefox:

sudo snap remove firefox

and I re-installed it :

sudo snap install firefox

during the installation I got this message :

2023-06-08T18:06:04+02:00 INFO failed to update "gnome-42-2204", will not have required content "gnome-42-2204": snap has no updates available firefox 114.0-3 par Mozillaâś“ installed

someone could highlight me about the issue and why it cannot launch ?

Thanks

I suddenly started to have this problem trying to launch any snap application, they won't launch and give error like this in terminal:

Content snap command-chain for /snap/snap-store/1113/gnome-platform/command-chain/desktop-launch not found: ensure slot is connected

I tried updating and reinstalling everything possible, snap, individual apps, no result. What solved my problem was going to the folder via the browser or

cd /snap/snap-store/

and I saw it empty.

I had a year-old backup on a drive and there a copy of snap folder too, so I located backup/snap/snap-store/ with several folders inside (with older number names like 638 not 1113) and copied all them into my /snap/snap-store/

All the snap apps started launching again. Hope it helps someone who has a backup of snap folder.

Had the same issue with th firefox. My solution was uninstall snapd, and install it again.

  1. snap list [check all your snapd packages]
  2. sudo systemctl stop snapd [stop dnap daemon]
  3. sudo apt remove --purge --assume-yes snapd gnome-software-plugin-snap [remove snapd]
  4. rm -rf ~/snap/ [remove snap directory]
  5. sudo rm -rf /var/cache/snapd/ [remove snap cache]
  6. ls /snap /var/snap /var/lib/snapd [check if everything is clear]
  7. sudo apt install firefox [install firefox with the snapd]
