How to disable mouse scroll wheel in ubuntu 20.04?

I see this question has already an answer here. But it didn't work for 20.04. What might be the solution for 20.04 version?

I've ended (or at least paused) incessant unintentional horizontal scroll by making an .Xmodmap file containing:

pointer = 1 2 3 4 5 0 0 0 0 0

... then running:

xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap
