I have repeatedly been given the option to update to Ubuntu 20.04 LTS by the Software Updater. When I click the "Upgrade..." for it to proceed, the only thing that happens is that the Software Updater closes.
I have tried, from the terminal:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Results, nothing but another puzzling issue that is unrelated, pertaining to JavaFX.

Any thoughts on how to proceed, or what might be hanging things up?
