Computing machines use silicon.

Silicon is essentially sand and is the remains of dead sea creatures spanning over millions of years. The properties of silicon make it useful in computing as its oscillations are stable and it prevents damage from outside sources.

Neurons in the brain occilate and it may be a contributory factor in a living beings cognitive ability.

I see three possibilities that artificial minds use of a substrate could be. 1 we use other living organisms to create an artificial mind (To form a wetware computer), 2 we continue to use mineral substrates or 3 we use artificialy created oranisms (to form a wetware computer)

Which other minerals are being proposed to be used as a substrate to replicate our organic minds in future intelligent machines?
