Vector space/Dual space/Definition

Let ${\displaystyle {}K}$ be a field and let ${\displaystyle {}V}$ denote an ${\displaystyle {}K}$-vector space. Then the space of homomorphisms

${\displaystyle {}{V}^{*}:=\operatorname {Hom} _{K}{\left(V,K\right)}\,}$

is called the dual space of ${\displaystyle {}V}$.
