Methionine
Methionine is one of the 20 common amino acids which makes up animal and plant proteins. Its molecular formula is HOO=CCH(NH2) (CH2)2 SCH3.
Vasodilatation
Oral methionine loading impairs flow-mediated endothelium-dependent vasodilatation.[1]
Pulmonary
Animals given large doses of parenteral methionine or homocysteine thiolactone die of pulmonary embolism and pulmonary infarct.[2]
