For two points ${\displaystyle {}A\neq B}$ in the Euclidean plane, the line that is perpendicular to the line given by ${\displaystyle {}A}$ and ${\displaystyle {}B}$, and that runs through the midpoint of the line segment between ${\displaystyle {}A}$ and ${\displaystyle {}B}$, is called the perpendicular bisector of the line segment.
