Skeleton wolves were skeletal variations of the wolf found only in Minecraft Earth.

Behavior

Main article: Wolf § Behavior

Skeleton wolves behaved similarly to wolves. They wandered aimlessly, avoiding lava and cliffs high enough to cause fall damage. However, unlike the wolves, skeleton wolves weren't tameable, were hostile, and had the ability to howl. If a skeleton wolf howled, nearby skeleton-themed mobs gained a damage boost effect. This excluded the mob itself unless another skeleton wolf howls while it was nearby. Additionally, skeleton wolves did not attack skeletons. Their melee attacks dealt 4HP♥♥ and, just like other undead mobs, they could sink in water.

Obtaining

Skeleton wolves were a rare mob drop found in stone tappables, with a low 0.2% chance of obtaining it.

Trivia

  • In the biome category of the journal, it said that they spawned in the desert.
  • Prior to the mob's inception, a popular YouTuber named DanTDM had his own skeleton wolf character, named Grim. Because of the channel's popularity and frequent collaborations with Mojang Studios, it is possible the mob was inspired by him.
