Chapter 22

Archie soon returns to the caves of Fiery Forge, eventually stumbling across a huge amount of diamonds and redstone. Although he had previously modeled the redstone golems after the iron golems he had seen in villages, he decides to use the hefty amount of materials to make this particular mold more unique. The Illagers that were working in the area came over to assist Archie, eventually making the new mold come to life, dubbed the Redstone Monstrosity. Later, Archie arrives back at Highblock Keep with the redstone golems and the Redstone Monstrosity, quickly noticing that the drawbridge is raised. Despite the hostile mobs, he quickly lowers the drawbridge and retreats into the Keep with his redstone golems, ordering the Monstrosity to keep guard and the hostile mobs to keep their distance. Archie then questions Walda regarding Thord, but she quickly changes the subject to a ceremony / coronation for Archie. Archie hesitates, but accepts the idea, and begins to think about a title for himself.

Chapter 23

Later that evening, Walda informs Archie of hostile mobs attacking and killing the Illagers at the entrance to the Keep. He quickly heads toward the entrance and orders the hostile mobs to leave the Keep and wait for him in the nearby field. Amazingly, they comply and scurry away. The other Illagers cheer Archie’s name in response. That night, in the throne room, Archie’s coronation takes place without incident, with the Illagers bowing at him out of respect. Archie then decides to call himself the Arch-Illager.

Chapter 24

Archie mentions to Walda that the term "Arch-Illager" is a play on words, with "Arch" meaning "leader or chief" and "Illager" meaning as to what he and the other people in the throne room are. He then excuses himself to do some research on top of the Obsidian Pinnacle. Staring into the Orb once more, Archie notices the five heroes at the center of the village which now has additional fortifications around it. Irritated, he has the Orb find the homes of the heroes, which are situated far away from the village, albeit scattered. Archie suddenly has an idea and hurries back to the throne room, ordering it to be cleared with the exception of Walda. Archie then lays out a map of the village and homes for Walda, ordering her to take the hostile mobs and set the surrounding homes on fire to distract the heroes from the village. Walda accepts out of loyalty, saying to Archie that she won’t fail.

Chapter 25

The next morning, Archie sets off for the village along Squid Coast, bringing the Redstone Monstrosity, his redstone golems, and the Illagers along with him. Along the way, he steers clear of the desert temple, making sure that the Nameless One wasn’t tempted to make additional plans. Coincidentally, Archie begins to doubt his plans, thinking of Yumi, and what he could do to warn her about the oncoming attack, but the Orb shoots down that idea, claiming that Archie is overstepping his bounds. Archie questions the Orb, but eventually gives in and decides to stick to the plan as originally intended.

Chapter 26

Late in the day, the group arrive at a hill overlooking the village. Archie orders the Redstone Monstrosity to set him down and climbs up the hill itself so nobody would be able to see the Monstrosity. He notices torches being lit throughout the village as well as four separate columns of smoke rising into the sky, wearing a smile out of satisfaction. As night falls, Archie questions his plan as he heads back down the hill, but the Orb mentions to him that he has no choice. Without hesitation, Archie then lunges his staff toward the village, ordering the Illagers to charge forward. They get right to work, tossing torches into homes and rounding up villagers as prisoners. Yumi, although shocked by the betrayal of Archie, is allowed to leave, which she does so. Archie also orders a redstone golem to capture Salah as a prisoner due to the way he was treated by him. Everything appears to be going to plan. That is, until Archie hears a familiar voice saying that he isn’t done with him.

Chapter 27

Turning around, Archie notices Smacker in the center of the village, with his iron sword drawn and ready to fight. Smacker says to Archie that he stayed behind to protect the village, much to Archie’s dismay. Smacker repeatedly shouts at Archie to fight him, but Archie motions the Redstone Monstrosity over to him. Taking one look at it, Smacker feels horrified, turns the other way, and runs off into the night. Archie feels satisfied, knowing that it’ll be a while before Smacker gets exhausted. He then stands at the center of the village, plotting his next steps. Although there was a small portion of Archie’s mind that felt like living a quiet life, it had faded away, allowing the Orb to have full control over him, making sure that he would never be stopped on his quest to conquer the land.

Epilogue

The four other heroes, now known as Adriene, Hal, Hex, and Valorie, don’t seem to mind about their houses being ransacked, but realize that the attack on the village was coordinated by Archie. They decide to prepare for battle, hoping to conquer the army of the Arch-Illager.
