Hi everyone! My name is Maria Parks. I’m a junior at the University of Kentucky. I am majoring in Information and Communication Technologies withe minors in Computer Science.

I have always loved working with numbers and technology. My favorite subject was math growing up. Something about seeing a problem be solved intrigued me. I wanted to find the reasons why this was happening. Once I was in high school, I began taking computer science and stats classes and realized this was the direction I wanted my future career to be in.

Some of my favorite projects in school and during my past internships have been creating web pages that are actually functional. It is so cool how I can write up code and make a website like the ones I use on a daily basis.

Currently I am interning with CDW which is a technology solutions provider. So far this experience has taught me about the working world and how I can bring skills I have acquired through all my courses into one job.

Although I do not have any experience with repairing devices, I am excited to begin learning how to do so!
