Attending CalstateLA for my bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, I have gone to schools throughout SoCal including: SDSU, SDCCD, and SWC. Having an education centered around physics and a life spent tinkering with machines, I chose this major because it is most related to what I have been doing my whole life.
Near the end of my bachelor’s degree, I plan to gain experience designing new components, and my goal is to eventually become a professional engineer overseeing the designs of new projects. With over a decade of experience installing and maintaining audio and video (AV) equipment in my personal life, and my educational background in physics and engineering, I want to use my deep knowledge of the industry to jump start my career.
Along with refining my skills writing technical documentation and diagnosing defects with technology, working in iFixit’s program will help round out my experience in technology design.
Skills:
From a decade of experience in Audio & Video technology and tinkering with machines, to experience in project management and product design, I have an eclectically large skill set.
| Robotics | Circuits | Microsoft Office/Google Workspace |
| CAD/CAM | AV Tech Installation | Device Networking |
| MATLAB | Product Design | Prototyping and Simulation |
| 3-D Printing | Material Analysis | Automation |
| Experienced Leader | Project Management | Client Needs Assessment |
| Logistics Management | Inventory Management | Team Coordination |
Projects/accomplishments:
At 17 years old, in 2011, I managed a project to build a new path of interlocking paver bricks for a local middle school. Between raising funds, securing materials and equipment, scheduling labor, and supervising the work of around 10 people, I was able to oversee the completion of the path that still is in use to this day.
Repair experience:
I have managed to keep a computer running for 13 years now, with only a graphics card upgrade. Along with repairing any issues with both hardware and software, I have kept the computer secure from degradation like viruses and rust.
- Other repairs throughout my life include:
- 2013 Honda Civic: Lights, Battery, Filter, and Key based repair
- Computer Peripherals: Mice, Headsets, Keyboards, and Controllers
- Steam Deck: Bumpers, Triggers, Joysticks, SSD Card replacement, and OS Repairs
- AV Equipment: Lights, Stands, Mounts, Microphones, Cables, and Cameras
- Record player, Phone screens, Logistics Equipment
- General Furniture, Splicing, Soldering, and Wood based repairs
Accolades:
Won 2nd place in a vex robotics tournament between schools for my robot’s performance design in high school. The Goal was to score points by successfully placing plastic balls and cubes into tall tubes in successive 1v1 matches. Our team of 3 beat out all 12 other teams, and were only a few point shy of the first place team; a team of 30 students from the technology based school in our district.
Hobbies:
Among researching new tech and applications in the AV industry, I like to spend my time in the creative space. I have learned to play 5 instruments in my life and I spend time dabbling in producing music in my free time. Along with this, I like to spend time creating media in the video space or supporting those I know in the streaming industry.
A fun fact about me is that I competed professionally and won money for video games in 2015-2016.
