Hey! My name is Paula. I'm a a junior at the University of Memphis with a major in Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in pre-med. I would like to go to medical school after I graduate. One of the fields I am interested in is neurosurgery. I am currently a medical assistant at Semmes Murphey Clinic and I also work as an artist at Painting with a Twist.

One of my favorite thing to do is travel. In the last 6 months, I have been to St. Louis, Miami, and Chicago. I visited these places with my friends for concerts or just to explore them. Last time I went outside of the country was this last summer where I visited Quebec, Canada with my family and got to practice my french language skills. The people were really nice and the views were gorgeous.

One of the hobbies that I recently have gotten into is building these miniature DIY houses. I was gifted this really pretty greenhouse on Christmas and I had a really fun time building all of the little plants and putting it together. I really hope to buy more soon to expand my collection.

I attended the Engineering Honors Society District Conference in Cookeville, TN in February 2025. I had a great time meeting other engineers and networking with others. I learned a lot about the organization which will benefit me next semester since I got elected President of the chapter at the University of Memphis. I attended an alumni panel where we got to learn more about attending graduate school or working in industry after graduating which was very informational. We had fun experiences like doing an egg drop competition and some social events such as learning how to ballroom dance which made the conference even more entertaining.
