Akshay

Hi! My name is Akshay. I am a second-year undergraduate student at York University with a major in Information Technology.

After I complete my degree, I would like to pursue higher education and find a place in the cyber security industry, specifically in penetration testing.

I have a solid base with Java, having completed two Java courses at York University and possessing two Java programming certifications from the University of Helsinki. In the past I have also taken a course on circuitry, giving me some hands-on experience working with circuits as well as soldering. Through the course I also had the chance to work with Arduino and AutoCAD.

I hope to gain more practical experience for repairing things around the house. For example, learning some basic plumbing.

I respect iFIXIT’s mission to reduce global waste and push back against throw away culture. I believe helping to work on this project will allow me to lend my skills and in turn learn many new skills. I look forward to working with my team and the broader iFixit community.
