Introduction
This guide will show you how to replace the motherboard in a Lenovo Thinkpad T450s. Ample lighting and storage for small parts recommended.

            Flip the laptop over so that the bottom is facing up. 
- 
            Unlock the battery by sliding the keys outwards. When unlocked, push the battery forwards to remove.

            Unscrew all 3.7 mm Phillips #0 screws from the back of the laptop. Half of them will remain attached to the cover.

            Lift off the back cover.

            Use a plastic opening tool or a nylon spudger to push the fan's bundled cable connector free. 
- 
            Remove the fan and heat sink assembly from the motherboard. 
 
-

                  - 
            Remove the hard drive from the motherboard's by gently pulling it out and up at the same time. 
 
-

                  - 
            Unplug the cable that attaches the polymer battery to the motherboard by pulling it out carefully.

            Remove the ribbon cable attached to the the battery case carefully by pulling the cable up and out.

            Remove the motherboard from the case. If the motherboard does not come off the case or feels stuck, make sure that you have removed all the cables prior

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
