Introduction
This guide will show you how to safely remove corrosion from a 2005-2009 Ford Mustang battery.
Before you begin, the following are highly recommended:
- Protective Eyewear
- Protective Face Coverings
Tools

            Using the 8-mm socket wrench, disconnect the battery terminals. 
- 
            Disconnect the negative terminal first. 
- 
            Disconnect the positive terminal second. 
 
-

                  - 
            Scrub inside and around the terminals using the battery brush. 
- 
            Scrub until the dust is gone, or flush with the terminal. 
 
-

                  - 
            Pour warm water onto the terminals and into the battery box. 
- 
            Repeat steps 5-6 until the corrosion is no longer visible. 
 
-

                  - 
            Spray the terminal posts with the acid detector spray. 
- 
            Wipe the spray off once it changes colors.

            Spray the battery protect spray onto the terminal posts. 
- 
            Apply the terminal grease onto the new washers. 
- 
            Place the new washers onto the battery terminal posts. 
 
-

            Place the battery back into the battery box. 
- 
            Reconnect the terminals to the battery posts. 
- 
            Reconnect the positive terminal first 
- 
            Reconnect the negative terminal second.
