How to Fix the Turning Mechanism of the Rowenta Turbo Silence 12" Table Fan

Introduction

The Rowenta Turbo Silence 12” Table Fan oscillating mechanism deteriorates with time resulting in improper fan rotation along with clicking sounds and movement restrictions. This instructional guide shows you how to break apart and modify the turning mechanism until the proper turning function returns.

Before You Begin:

Plug off the device to guard against electrical dangers.

Tools

Phillips #2 Screwdriver

Step 1

Unplug the fan from its outlet before beginning disassembly.
Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screw securing the front and back grills.
Remove the front grill.

Step 2

Remove the fan guard by turning it to the right.

Step 3

Pull the the fan blades off of the fan axle.

Step 4

Turn the white plastic bracket to the left and remove it.

Step 5

Remove the back grill.

Step 6

Remove the three 1.2 mm Phillips screws that secure the motor cover.

Step 7

Remove the motor cover.

Step 8

If the fan is too loose or wobbling, tighten the screw to secure the movement.
If the fan is stuck and not turning, loosen the screw slightly to free up the mechanism.
Test the fan after adjusting to ensure smooth movement.
